Bacon and ham, with tomato, peppers, onions and great northern beans make for a terrific soup.

Directions

1. In large kettle cook bacon until crisp. Remove and drain. reserve 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
2. Cook ham, onion and green peppers in bacon grease until tender.
3. Add tomatoes, water, brown sugar, vinegar, and dash of salt.
4. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, add bacon and simmer covered 10 minutes.
5. Reserve 2 cups beans and mash others.
6. Add all beans to soup and heat well.
