Spicy Split Pea Soup
A delicious split pea soup with a flavor you would not expect that gives it a real kick.

Ingredients

  1. Heat oil in pot.
  2. Add onions, salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add garlic, bay leaf and rinsed and drained peas. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Let simmer on medium heat until peas are tender (about 45 minutes ).
  6. Once tender, find and remove bay leaf, then take hand blender and blend soup until desired consistency.
  7. Serve with a dash of hot sauce. Enjoy!
