Whole wheat pasta with toasted sesame seeds tossed in a delicious Asian sauce.
6 cloves minced garlic
3 tbsps sugar
6 tbsp rice vinegar
6 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil
3 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1/2 cup green onions
2 oz whole wheat spaghetti
Cook the pasta according to package instructions and drain.
If your seeds aren't toasted, you can toast them in a 350 °F (175 °C) oven for about 6-8 minutes while your pasta cooks.
Place the garlic, sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves.
Pour the sauce over the boiled and drained pasta, add the sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and mix thoroughly.
