Pour hot tea over raisins and allow to soak while you prepare the rest of the ingredients. |

Pre-heat oven to 340 °F (170 °C). |

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a bowl. Melt the butter and combine it with the sugar in another bowl, then add the eggs one at a time. |

Mash the bananas and add these to the wet ingredients too. |

Stir in the walnuts, drained raisins and vanilla extract. |

Finally stir in the flour mixture a third at a time. |

Scrape into a loaf tin (buttered and floured) and bake for 1 hour until a skewer comes out clean. |
